How can I tell if my air conditioner is broken?

Before you call us in a panic, there’s a few steps to make sure your AC unit is really broken.

  1. Check that it is getting power. You might have tripped a circuit or blown a fuse.
  2. Check the fan. If you can turn the fan on, the blower is getting power and the problem might be with your thermostat. If the fan doesn’t turn on, you might be having blower problems.
  3. Check the thermostat. Is it still on cool or auto? Is it in the right temperature? Have you changed the batteries recently? These are usually the issues with thermostats.
