What is a ductless mini split system?

Mini-splits are heating and cooling systems that allow you to control the temperatures in individual rooms or spaces.

Mini-split systems are made of two main components — an indoor air-handling unit(s) (evaporator) and an outdoor compressor/condenser (AKA pump heat). Unlike conventional air conditioners, mini split systems do not have ducts. They are easy to install and usually require only a three-inch hole through a wall for the conduit.

Mini-splits can be a good choice to room additions where extension or installation of ductwork is not feasible, as well as for energy efficient homes or new constructions that require a small space conditioning system.
